Jermaine Paul from Harriman New York, took home top honors on season two of the singing competition, The Voice on NBC. Paul was on country star Blake Shelton’s, Team Blake and every week his performances got stronger as the unlikely pair combined their talents to arrange a series of songs that put him in position to win the show. R Kelly’s, ‘I believe I can fly’, was the song that catapulted Jermaine Paul to victory on The Voice.
Drom, was the place to be this past Thursday as the music series Uncomun, presented by Nevaris and Maya Azucena, paved the way for the release of the album “Swiss Chocolate Cake” by Mr. Complex. The night was HOT…figuratively and literally! The packed NYC East Village club held in the heat and as the night went on, it only got hotter, as each artist took to the stage. The verve that filled the room created an awesome night of music that included a screening of Complex’s video’s “Holy Smokes” and Pharoahe Monch’s “Still Standing”. The short film “Fanatic” by Complex also made it’s debut.

Mastermind Dave Hahn on guitar and mixer, led us through various dub grooves that gave room for the band to take us on their journey of organic improvisation. Our good friend Larry McDonald, delivered as always with his mesmerizing percussive genius.
