This app allows NY Waterway Hudson and East River Ferry riders to purchase tickets paper-free from their phone and use their phone as a ticket. The app can be used to Check ferry schedules for all Hudson and East River routes and it even provides real-time advisories and alerts. All personal information and payments are encrypted over SSL, and are PCI-compliant to ensure high security. The app is free and is compatible with Android, iPhone, iPod touch and iPad.

NYC Subway platforms are wiring for cell phone reception
Waiting for the the train in the subway is about to become a lot more louder when a handful of stations next week in Manhattan gain cell phone signals from the platform.
The program that is a pilot for At&T and T- Mobile customers will begin along the 14th Street corridor — at the A, C, E, F, L, M and No. 1, 2 and 3 platforms — and the C and E train station at 23rd Street.
Car Share Services in New York City
New York City is one of the greatest city’s to live in because you do not have to drive to get around. New York City Bike Share 2 Week Test Run
New York City is going to join other big cities across the world like Montreal, London, Frankfurt and Stockholm by expanding transportation and creating a bike share program.
The program will consist of 600 stations with 10,000 bikes located in Manhattan, Brooklyn and potentially Queens, Staten Island and the Bronx. Users of the service will be able to sign up for a membership or sign out a bike using their credit card. When you are finished riding the bike, you simply return it to a bike share station.
