The New York City Marathon is one of the greatest and inspirational running events that anyone who is fortunate enough to take part in will probably ever do. Not everyone who runs the marathon is an elite world-class runner. Some people do it to challenge themselves, inspire others, support charitable foundations, be a part of a great race recognized world wide and many more reasons.
Over the years, the New York City Marathon has attracted many celebrities and notable personalities who have decided to step up to the challenge of the grueling race and become part of thousands who have ran in the marathon. Actors, Actresses, Musicians, Models, Chefs and Athletes across a multitude of sports are just some of the types of celebs that have run in the marathon.
A celebrity has never won the New York City Marathon, but it’s safe to say that anyone who has the courage and fortitude to run across all 5 boroughs over the course of 26.219 miles is a winner no matter what place they actually finish in the race.
This year, the TCS New York City Marathon will take place on November 6, 2016. View a list of the past New York City Marathon Champions.
