Angie Martinez of Hot97 will be throwing a Back Yard BBQ on Sunday September 4th at the The Garden @ Studio Square in Long Island City.Tickets for the event are $40 each which includes an all day barbecue. There will be a special appearance by Usher and other guests & DJ’s.

If you’ve not been to the Garden, be prepared to have fun as this open-air garden is filled with good German Beer and some of the most diverse urban landscapes in the world.

The 44th anniversary of the West Indian American Day Parade & Carnival will take place on September 5. This parade is one of the city’s biggest that takes place yearly on Labor Day. Thousand’s of people will line the streets of Eastern Parkway in Crown Heights, Brooklyn to dance and partake in a Caribbean tradition.

Electric Zoo, New York’s Electronic Music festival will take place on Labor Day weekend from September 2-4th on Randall’s Island Park. Tickets range from $109-$575.  There will be 70+ artists that include, Armin Van BuurenCarl Cox, DJ Snoopadelic and Tiësto. Click Here for a full line up.

Randall’s Island Park is located along the East River between Manhattan, Queens and the Bronx. The grass event space where the Electric Zoo festival is held is an area of about 24 acres. In addition to the main stage, there will be several open air tents for a multi-genre experience.

Rock the Bells 2011 will feature iconic performances from Ms. Lauryn Hill, Nas (with special guests AZ, Pete Rock and DJ Premier), Cypress Hill, Erykah Badu, Mos Def & Talib Kweli Are Black Star, Raekwon & Ghostface, Mobb Deep and more will take place on September 3rd on Governors Island.
