Painted Pony Rodeo in Lake Luzerne

The oldest weekly rodeo in the U.S. is the Painted Pony Rodeo that takes place in Lake Luzerne New York. The season which runs from July 1st until Labor Day weekend is over but, we’ve got pictures of the final weekend of our trip up to the Adirondacks.

A trip to the The Long Horn Saloon for some Texas Style barbeque and then off to the rodeo.

Some of the best cowboys and cowgirls compete in the weekly rodeo that is in the Lake George region for a chance to win cash prizes and a chance at taking home the year-end trophy buckle.

The Painted Pony Rodeo events include bareback, saddle bronc, bull riding, team roping, calf roping, steer wrestling and barrel racing contest.
