Farmers markets and greenmarkets are open for business all year round in some New York City locations. Food products such as, Fresh produce, dairy, meat, poultry, syrups, baked goods and plants are among the offerings that are brought in from local New York farms.
GrowNYC is an organization that has helped to build a number of greenmarkets in the city. Their program has helped to bring in produce and goods from over 200 farmers. Their largest world known market is the Union Square Farmer’s Market, which operates year-round and is open Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m.
