Pictures of The High Line at Night

The High Line has grown into one of New York City’s most popular spots to take photo’s from. In the day time, the view of the west side is lively and on a clear day, you can catch a glimpse of the Statue of Liberty in the distance. At night, it becomes more mysterious as the lights from the city provide a glowing back drop for its visitors to the park.

The Standard Hotel which span’s part of the park, is lit up with many different colors, as guests of the Andre Balazs hotel turn their lights on. While you are in the park, you can get a nice view of the beehive looking Frank Gehry designed IAC building. There is so much to see and explore on the High Line as well as the street’s below.

On a walk to the High Line on 14th street, you can see many of New York City’s high end fashion store’s that include, Diane von Furstenberg. The High Line has more room to grow, in thanks to the $20 million dollar gift from von Furstenberg and her husband chairman of IAC and Expedia, Barry Diller. The Diller-von Furstenberg Family Foundation, who had already given the park $15 million dollars, has done it again with this larger donation. The Mayor of New York City Michael Bloomberg say’s, that the funds will go towards expanding the park.
