Big Time City Your Ultimate Guide to the City!
Antibalas is one of our favorite bands in New York City and their show last night at the Highline Ballroom did not disappoint. If you are not familiar with Afrobeat music, you have to get out and see this Brooklyn based band. Their grooves are infectious and their onstage personalities make for a great time. One of the many highlights of their show was an awesome Congo solo from Reinaldo de Jesus.
The band will be headed to Lagos Nigeria at the end of November for the Lagos Jazz Series but we hope that they play another show in NYC before they head out. Until then we will just have to enjoy their latest album entitled Antibalas.
