It’s official, one of the most famous classical singers in the world Andrea Bocelli, will perform at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on December 5, 2012. As part of his U.S. tour, the concert will feature Bocelli’s vast platinum-selling catalogue, covering both traditional arias and his world-famous repertoire.
Bocelli is the biggest-selling solo artist in the history of classical music. His ability to seemlessly “cross over” to the top of international pop charts and into previously uncharted territory in popular culture, is masterful!
Information on tickets sales will be announced in the New Year but, fans currently have the opportunity to buy great seats before the official on-sale through PBS member stations WNET and WLIW, which will be airing Bocelli‘s new television special “Live in Central Park” starting Dec.2.
From the Barclays Center Press Release:
“I’m very happy and honored to perform at Barclays Center in Brooklyn next year,” said Bocelli. “It’s always a pleasure for me to play in New York, but I’m particularly excited to perform in Brooklyn for what will be my only 2012 performance in the city that has given me such affection. I appreciate my wonderful fans and look forward to seeing them at the Barclays Center.”“We are proud to welcome Andrea Bocelli, one of the world’s most accomplished and celebrated artists, to perform in concert at Barclays Center,” said Barclays Center CEO Brett Yormark. “The fact that Bocelli has chosen to make his one New York City 2012 appearance in Brooklyn speaks volumes about the global excitement about Barclays Center and the continued renaissance of the borough. Bocelli in Brooklyn will be a triumphant sold-out appearance and will continue our goal to bring the best of everything to Barclays Center.”
With over 65 million in record sales, the popularity of the Italian tenor is sure to attract a sold out performance in the 19,000 world-class Barclays Center.
