The New York Knicks and Jeremy Lin, Up For the Challenge

The NBA All Star break is over and now it’s time for our New York Knicks to pick up the pace and finish off the season strong. Earlier this month, the Knicks went on a 7 game win streak. This was the beginning of Linsanity. In order for them to be a strong contender for the playoffs, they would need to keep these types of win streaks going.

Our all star line that inlcudes, Carmelo Anthony, Tyson Chandler, Landry Fields, Amar’e Stoudemire and of course,  Mr. Linsanity Jeremy Lin, are preparing for the big challenge ahead of them.

New York basketball fans are as excited as they’ve ever been and we owe a lot of this to #17 Jeremy Lin. If you’ve been out of the loop on this new basketball super star, here’s a little run down:

  • Jeremy Lin, is a Taiwanese-American, that was born on August 23, 1988 in Los Angeles.
  • Lin is a point guard that graduated from Harvard in 2010 and was undrafted in the NBA.
  • He spent his first season bouncing between the  Golden State Warriors and the Houston Rockets to eventually land on the Knicks.
  • Linsanity began on February 4th when the Knicks took on the New Jersey Nets. In that game, Lin scored 25 points, 7 assists and 5 rebounds in the 99-92 victory over the Nets.
  • A social media frenzy ensued and Lin became a viral sensation earning him many nick names.

Jeremy Lin’s nicknames include:

Linsanity Mr. Lincredible
Just Lin Baby The Linstigator
Lincredible Super Lintendo
Linsational Linvincible
Linderella Linked-Lin

The Knicks have plenty of games left in the season and you can bet, we will be watching all of them.
